Borrowed Energy Always Comes with a Bill

Here’s where the bill comes due. Caffeine’s half-life is about 5–6 hours, which means it gradually loses its grip on those receptors. So when the caffeine finally clears, all of that accumulated tiredness hits you at once. That’s the crash.
